The consular notary is competent to legalize documents for French nationals residing within its jurisdiction or visitors, and non-French citizens who need notarized documents for submission on French territory.
Acts are drawn up following the models of notaries in France.
In all cases, it is advisable to contact the Chancellery to find out the list of documents required and the cost, and to send the model of the document requested by the notary in France by email to chancellerie@consulfrance-newyork.org.
